Set up in Bankhead National Forest this morning hunting a green field. Maybe the 2 deer that has walked all over this field will show up on this windy morning.

Back in my funnel area, still a few water oak acorns on the ground, maybe this chilly morning will make the deer get up and move.

Out in the swamp on Wheeler. On high traffic area maybe today they will be using the paths.

Yeah been a little busy trying to get my 8u fastpitch travel ball team ready.

No good this morning , ended the season with 5 Kills , down from a usual 8 a year. To many does being killed in this state on Public Land. I'm seeing fewer deer every season.

I finally gave in this AM. I froze to death and darn near got blown off the tree between 7 and 9. Good news was I di find a new rub and scrape. It's a small one, but real fresh. That's the first fresh sign to show up in a week. Back at em this afternoon

I have my 8yo with me so it's COE land at Gainesville. Were in a makeshift blind
looking over the greenfield, going to need a very hungry dumb deer if were going to see anything.

I hear ya jus me.....lol. I have the same thing with my 9 yo. I just hope he is picking up all the stuff I teach him when we go. I hope one day he gets wound up about hunting as me.

Just got settled. Corn is all gone. Maybe i need to move...

I placed a ladder stand a beginning of season in there home. I did it just for this time of year. I snuck in hear wind is ok but with time winding down I came in. Water everywhere though. Could help me if they walk the edge of it. Gonna be close. 15 yards is farthest shot. Good luck.

Nah, it was gone, but she walked right up to where it was yesterday and gave me a nice 20yd shot. Who knew corn pulled them in??
After I shot her, I immediately nocked another arrow, watched the deer I shot go down, and then waited to see what the other 2 does were going to do. Of course they had stopped behind trees (why not?!) trying to figure out what just happened. I didn't have a clear shot, and then they bolted directly away. I wanted 2 or 3, but I'll take 1 over none any day. Great way to end my season. Good luck to the rest of y'all still hunting...

Well I got skunked in the afternoon. No surprise though I had an apache hoverin around me for 2 hrs , firing rockets and 30mm. That like to rung my bell, I went bow hunting and come home with my ears ringin. It don't seem to bother the deer too much, but that would drive me nuts listenin to everyday.
