Out on Wheeler at a good funnel. Saw a buck last week here, maybe he will cruse through.

Fudge! 6pt came by and I screwed it up. When I went to stand, I guess he saw me and took off. Any suggestions on when and went not to stand. I have had this happen twice this month.

If you shoot sitting down, keep in mind you will not be bending at the waist so you'll be shooting high.
As far as standing up, I either do it as soon as I see the deer off at a distance, or when the deer is behind a tree. Most of where I hunt I only have shooting lanes, so that's always times when I'm hidden from the deer. Also, make sure you have cover to break up your outline-small tree behind you, another tree, anything that breaks up your pattern, so it's not just you hanging off the side of a tree like a sore thumb.

Thanks for the tips. It's been on of those seasons this year. Just any and everything has happened to me.
I didn't think of getting up as soon has I see them way off. I will definitely try that.

We may be hunting the same 6 pt on wheeler? I had a 6 pt bust me out there, 45 yards away, I was already standing, 25+ in my climber and he stopped and looked straight at me.

Finally saw a deer in my other spot, so I did the most logical thing I could-changed locations. Decided to try the backside of a waterhole up on a little ridge hoping to catch em working their way around the water. There's a few water oaks on the ground, now all I need is a hungry deer.

Try standing most of the time. I used to bow hunt a lot and would just stand as long as I could leaning up against the tree. Rather be ready than caught off guard sitting down.

I haven't had a deer see me moving in my stand. When i first see a deer i move slowly and stand up slow. I hope to never have a deer spot me. I do try to look at the surrounding foliage to help conceal me. Best of luck to you

Could have it happened around 945. I was near the jolly b area.

There is a massive 8pt out there too. We'll beyond the ears but still young.
