Big buck blew after being shot with a bow???

I shot a good buck yesterday afternoon with my bow And after being hit it ran about 40 yards blew and took off. Had really good blood for about half a mile and just stopped. I used my 30 yard pin when he was 25 yards away so I know I hit him high. Anyone have any thoughts or experience. Going back to look for the deer today

Didn't get lung or he would have never went that far. Sounds like you got sweet meat (tenderloin). More spooked then hurt. He'll probably recover.

Sounds like the dead zone. I've shot a few deer in the same spot, and can honestly say I know atleast one of them survived. Probably more but I only have proof of 1. Chances are if the buck was hit in this area that he will recover, he will be sore for a good while but I'd expect you might see him again one day. Good luck!
