LFTT 11/19/14

Live from Bankhead National Forest.I'm set up on a trail between feeding and bedding area with a bluff they have to walk around straight to me. Wind is perfect and I'm 100 yards from my truck on a main county road. The neighborhood don't like me hunting here. Good luck to everyone this morning.

It was balmy 19 degrees at the camp house when I pulled up. Set up in my Lone Wolf on the powerline food plot. Saw a sumbitch here driving by on my way in shortly before 8 yesterday morning.

I'm set up on the edge of a cut over today watching a heavy used trail. Good luck to yall.

14 here in NW Ga! Had a 6 point come into my grunting about 20 minutes ago. Hoping the does will get up and bring the big boys out!!

I'm set up in the house with my 92 y/o Granddaddy in Jack, AL. About to eat breakfast and drink some coffee. I like to hunt, but I love this spot even more.

I hear ya brad I turkey hunted in jack at a buddy's uncles a few years ago. Lot of deer and turkeys down that way.

Ah, the sun just cleared the tree tops across the powerline and is beaming down directly on me. Damn, I wish I would've brought something to eat. Those cheese crackers didn't last long.

Back in Tennessee with the smoke pole watching a hardwood ridge off the backside of a big hayfield. Saw a good buck cross here yesterday out of range. The wind has gotten up and is whippin'!

Just saw a total of 14! All slick heads and yearlings. They on the move

Just had 6 more come right under me.

Had a 4 point come through cruising an hour ago. Nothing since then

Seen 11 so far just shot a doe, I wasn't gonna kill her but she was being too careful and I don't need her edumicating other deer. I like my deer to careless and free natured

So ive seen 24 so far, and still havent gotten a shot. Its 10am and they still moving

Just had a giant run a doe by me at 10 yards and couldn't get him stopped.

Thinking about going this evening 2:30-dark...my question is for whatever reason I have not seen any deer in about 2 weeks...where do you think I should hunt the fields or the hardwoods..where are you guys seeing most of your deer?

i've shot six in the woods this year

I figure they are still eating all the acorns...I may just not be in the right spot.

If you still have acorns, hunt them.

I'm set up about 300 yards from where I was the previous two sits. I'm in some thinned pines about 175 from a hellacious thicket where I believe big boy is hiding out. May not see squat this evening, but it ought to be good for in the morning.

I'm up in the barn this evening, hunting our biggest/best field with my muzzleloader in hand...I saw two good bucks here about 2 weeks ago, so hopefully they'll do the same thing again.

Ended up seeing two this morning a little spike and a 3 point. I almost grabbed the muzzleloader this afternoon but instead brought the bow and setting on a small plot. Wind is blowing pretty good right now.

Finally got another chance to hunt Only the second time this year...

I saw 12 deer total. 4 were bucks - a spike, a small 6 point, then 2 decent bucks right at dark. The decent bucks came out about 250 yards from me and it was too dark to tell much other than that they had a decent frame to their racks

I saw two does and a fawn

About 330 I had a small doe come by about 30 mph and never check up. Then around 5 or a little before had two doe walk out right in front of me. I was on the ground hide up in some brush ( no trees around to climb). The older doe knew something wasn't right. I finally got stood up then we was in a stare down again. She finally looked away I drew back and she was at 33 yards. She was Getting real nervous and the wind was whopping. About the time I released she ducked and turned. Hit her a little back and high. Direct spine hit. DRT. Never did get the broadhead out of her it was stuck in the bone good. Hit her so hard the lighted nock flew off and half the way back toward me.
