Emmett Strikes Again

Emmett shot what he thought was a mature 6pt yesterday evening out of one of my loc-on's on a foodplot. We trailed it about 150 yards and saw where it had bedded down and got up. We backed out and met up at 8:30 this morning to continue the search. He wound up making about another 400 yards. Ended up being a liver hit. Turns out he was and 8pt that weighed 195#. Emmett's happier than a puppy with two peters. It's been one helluva bow season for us.

Thanks everyone. Lucky for us, the buck made a loop and fell dead about 100 yards from the log road. We only had to drag him 30 yards.

What's so funny is we have another older guy that hunts out here with us. He's the type that over analyzes everything. He spends more time screwing with cameras, plot watchers and other gizmos than he does hunting. He's always stomping around "looking for sign". He told Emmett he couldn't find any sign and that we were going to have a bad year. Yeah, right.
