Live from Camden, Al. Woke up at 0210 and drove over here. Got settled in right before daylight and have squirrels and turkeys everywhere. No deer yet. I'm sitting in a stretch of Oaks that are dropping like crazy and to my back is a 4 y/o clearcut and a green patch on the other side of the oaks. Once I got settled in I heard a squirrel fall. Heard a thud then he took off, he must have eaten too much and fell.
I'm on a hardwood ridge where I've been seeing a lot of deer. Maybe one will give me a shot. It's a little windy here and just stopped raining. Good luck guys.
Set up in a pine thicket between to ridges that leeds into a creek bottom at Cahaba WMA. Very windy but in my favor. Seen 2 mature bucks patrolling this area. Good luck everyone!
I have every other week off from now till the new year.
pretty much what I have but I am off tomorrow thru next Wednesday, work a couple days and then off the next week, work 4 days then off another week and continue this until end of year:)
I should be in Kentucky right now... But I forgot to call Tuesday morning and get an area for tomorrow so they are al full.. But I got an area for Friday and it is one I have wanted to hunt so maybe it will work out. I'll be heading out tomorrow morning. Good luck to y'all out hunting!

Woke up not feeling well today and I was told that the best medicine is some quality time in the woods so I am heading out to the woods for the rest of the day!

So I climbed down around 11 and scouted another area for a bit, then grabbed some lunch. I get back to my climber and there is fresh sign 3 feet away. I think I am the one being patterned!
Didn't have service this morning otherwise would've posted up here. Did see three bucks and a doe. Here's a video of the biggest 8point from this morning. Still haven't shot a buck with my bow,but just felt this one needed one more year. Had him at 12 yards
Congrats prb! I'm on a hardwood ridge above a food plot this evening. I've seen one lone doe so far. There are several scraped on this ridge and there was one in the food plot. The hunting is about to get good around here.
Hey Norton, what are the deer on/around Choccolocco doing??? They chasin' yet?
I would imagine they're getting close. In on duty Friday. I'll ride through there and let you know what I are. Holler at me when you come down and hunt and well go eat. Or you can slide over to my farm and catch a hunt.
Yep. More like 15' though. I sat til 1pm. WillyB had to be back for a family dinner, so we couldn't hunt this evening. He hunted the front part of the property in the "spot" til 10am. He didn't see anything though. Those Milleniums sure are nice and comfortable. My only complaint with them is you pretty much have to fold the seat up when you stand up to shoot. I need to start buying me 1 or 2 a year.
Well I shot a doe at the same time as someone decided to shoot a gun! I just spent the last 2 hours searching for her or my arrow and couldn't find either. :-( I hope I just missed her
Well the buck I shot nose dived through a barbed wire fence, got up and made it to an open field and I haven't saw him since. Had good blood a good way into the field and then it got sporadic. From where I was, I couldn't see into the field after he topped the hill into the edge of it and I have no idea which way he went after losing blood. I won't be able to make it back until Friday morning to look again. I could tell he was hit hard and I'm amazed that he made it as far as he did. Pisses me off to lose a deer!

ikillbux, I'm starting to see full blown active scrapes on Chocc. I'm going to sit out there all day Friday, but you don't worry, you just stay out at Pelham.

In that boat with you shaw. We only buy millennium stands. I have a few old ones with the wide aluminum struts for the platform. My toes hang off the edge when I ease out to let the seat down. We buy a few each year. I bought two of the monster millenniums this year and they fixed that problem in spades. The absolute most comfortable stands available. Also bought a 110 ladder and it's 21' to the rail. I fell asleep in that bugger a few weekends ago when it was real windy.
