PSE Slider 2 Sights

PSE Slider 2 Sights - 08/24/14 10:16 AM

I bow hunt with my uncle and my best friend and they shoot the Spot Hog Tommy Hog and the HHA single pin pivoting sights. I really like both of these sights and thought about making the change. I have for the past two seasons shot a $75 PSE Slider 2 sight that I thought was a more crude and simple sighting instrument. On the PSE sight you just make your own marks on the tape for your yardages, unlike the SH and HHA that have pre-calibrated tapes to choose from after establishing a base zero at 20 and 60 yards.

Once the base zero at 20 and 60 was established on the HHA and the SH sight it was impressive to see how accurate and precision tuned these sights were. I felt that I had more of a crude sight and had to rely on some "Kentucky Windage" on odd distances with my slider site.

Well I looked online last night and found a pdf you can print for free of various yardage tapes. I found the tape that matched my 20 and 60 mark on my slider site, matched them up and taped the new yardage scale on my sight. I can now dial any range I want to out to 70 yards, and my set up is dialed in.

I am sorry for such a long winded post, but the point I am making is that if you like this style of sight and are on a budget the Slider 2 is not one to overlook. It is a simple, relatively inexpensive sight that can be dialed in basically the same as the HHA or the Spott Hog which are both excellent sights as well.

Those HHA sights are sweet. My shooting has really improved since I went to a single pin. I got to where I couldn't handle all the glare coming off of multiple fiber optic pin sights.

I leave my slider on the 30 yard mark when I hunt and don't have to move my pin on any shot 30 yards or in. 30 yards covers a most of the shots I get, but adjustments can be made quickly. I think a lot of people would be sold on single pin sights if they ever tried them.
