Set up on a hardwood ridge that backs up to thicker mixed pine area. Acorns are dropping pretty good in this little area right now. Gods luck and stay safe.

Walked up on a shooter going in the woods this morning.

He stepped out @ 50 yards crossing the woods road I was creeping down. He I squatted down and he stood in the road staring at me for 3 minutes. He had me locked down.

I didn’t have an arrow nocked in bow. He eventually got spooky and got out of here.

I was about 70 yards from where I wanted to be and about 30 mins late.

Damn just damn

Stephen told me I had to smile so I got in the long arm on my trophy 6pt. Not a deer I would normally shoot but I wanted a track for Riggs and the doe came in out of range and the bachelor group came in to 30 yds and under. He would have been a great deer in a few years but hunting the forest πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. I wanted to shoot the 2.5 yr old 4pt in the group but he never gave me a shot. This one walked up to 15 yds so he went to the processor. The other two stayed within 30 yds for another 30 minutes after I shot. The doe I saw must have been looking for a fawn cause I heard her bleeting for 5 minutes on the opposite ridge when I was climbing and she went away from me. 30 minutes later I heard her coming back and she crossed 100 yds below me bleeting the whole time.

Set up between a 2 yr old cutover and a 15+ yr old cutover bedding area watching a very well used watering hole. Brushes in a natural ground blind on Monday so hit my fingers crossed.

I'm here. It's too hot and there's too many bugs but, the wind is finally right for this stand.
