Any saddle hunters on here?
If so what sticks do you use and how do you pack your gear in?
I use a saddle. Hawk helium. I got a old lox on I turn into a platform and I just strap my stick to it. Platform has backpack straps on it.

I use 4 hawk helium mini sticks with the cable aiders. I use gear ties to attach it to a trophy line platform then it all straps down nicely on my badlands backpack.

I use an elberstock bag with usually 3 helium’s and a tethrd platform. Southern ground hunting on you tube has a video on the bag and sticks and how he packs them. I’m thinking of going the one stick route but haven’t tried it out yet

Climbing spurs unless I’m on public. For a platform, I have a ring of steps and a predator platform depending on the situation. Got a Huntworth hickory pack to try This year, but I’m also able to do early season hunts with just my gaffs on a sling, and everything else I need in my dump pouches.

And If I’m forced to use sticks, I use muddy pros that I’ve drilled out with amsteel aiders . If I was a full time stick user, I’d probably get some timber ninjas or would 1 stick. But I hate using sticks.

I climb with and stand on an Eastern Woods Outdoors Ulimate One Stick and rappel down with 40’ of Sterling HTP. Carry all my hunting/climbing gear in a mystery ranch pop up 28 pack.

I use 4 Hawk minis with aiders. My platform is the Hawk platform. I've modified an Alps turkey vest with some additional straps to secure my sticks and platform to it.

I used Wild Edge Steps. 8-9 steps with an adjustable aider gets me higher than my Doyle's hoist will allow. So about 30' which is excessive anyways.
Sorry, you said sticks. But I'll leave it for posterity.

I’ve ran both Hawk sticks and lone wolf sticks. I like the Hawk sticks much better. They pack more compact than the lone wolf ones. I’ve attached an out on a limb platform to my top stick so I only have to carry sticks in. I stack them and use a bungee cord or those big twist ties that are popular now.

Saddle, straps, other related gear go in a backpack. Use 6 Lone Wolf mini's. Shoulder strap attached to sticks so they ride along my side.

Do you use regular gun strap, or what kind?

One stick climbing method, platform is a OOAL Scout Angled mounted on the stick. I have two saddles that I made. One is a Flex copy the other is a transformer copy. I also bring rope to climb trees on afternoon set ups. I rappel down always. I pack the single stick on my little dagger eberlstock hydration pack
I just recently purchased this platform from Dixieland Bowhunter( Facebook and YouTube). This things is a game changer. This thing is strong and doesn’t kick out. Just take off top step of hawk helium stick and bolt in same holes. Check them out. Alittle high on price but rather give to a great guy that makes a great product than the big box stores. He works in a machine shop so he knows what he doing. That angled front edge is so much more comfortable on my feet. He also makes attachment that goes on predator platform that is angled that is awesome. If I had a predator platform I would definitely buy one.
Here are platforms for predator platform. He makes for regular size an XL platform.

wild edge steps here. sometimes use predator platform only, sometimes wild edge ring of steps, sometimes combo of both. steps going in their bag inside my pack and strap platform on outside of pack. at the tree i put step bag around my shoulder and platform in a carabiner on saddle. everything except bow comes up with me and bow i pull up with rope as last thing i do.

Runs 3 LW sticks and an aider to get about 18-20ft up. I use the top step of my lw stick and screw in a step as my platform, most of time I’m standing on a limb. That’s my scouting setup, almost shot a big 8 last weekend in no man’s land deep in the mountains. Toss my bow in my bow sling, the rest in my back pack and carry the sticks in, it’s about as low as I can get weight wise trying to hunt these big woods mountain deer.

Just now seeing this some how, but I use one I made out of an old ratchet strap (I just use it as an over the shoulder sling), but am in the process of upgrading to a gun strap. I am planning on using a self tapping screw to keep it secure to the stick.

I saddle hunted last year with 3 stix but this year, I went to EWO Ultimate One-Stick and I rappel down using Mammoth Crag 9.5 mm Dry Dynamic rope with Petzl Grigir+ device and I LOVE IT!!!!!! I have a Cruzr XC saddle that I love and I no longer carry a hvy climber and I can climb ANY tree (within reason) and I can hide myself with the tree I'm in and hunt places I couldn't hunt before. I know... many ppl are afraid of change and poo-poo on saddle hunting. Stay in your climbers!!
I have one sticked and rappelled the last 2 weeks and love it. Doubt I go back to carry multiple sticks ever again.
