ASA FOLEY, AL - 02/21/21 06:52 AM

Are any of y'all going to the ASA pro am in Foley on the 26-28 of February? I plan to shoot one of my rounds on Friday at 1:00 pm and the other on Saturday at 11:30.

I am, so I'll be shooting senior known this year. I'll be on range D and E.

Yes. Lancaster will have a big trailer there. Cbe, tru ball, mathews, pse and many others will have booths as well. If you get a chance go to the pro range and watch them shoot.

Re: ASA FOLEY, AL - 02/23/21 01:11 AM

I worked on getting my bow swapped over from indoor shooting over to 3D this afternoon before work. Just trying to get it dialed in to 45 yards. Looks like a good chance of rain this weekend so I'm gonna practice without my lenses tomorrow and see how that goes.

I'm going to try to focus on the upper 12's more this year and hopefully reduce the number of 8's I shoot. Most of the 8's I shot last year were less than a 1/2 inch under the 12 ring. I also plan to judge every target before I range it to try and get my yardage judging back to where it use to be before I had to wear glasses. I would love to be able to shoot senior pro next year but that won't happen if I can't judge yardage.

I tried to work on my upper 12 game today. If I can keep from missing left or right I think this strategy should work. This was one arrow from 25, 35 and 45 yards.

Oh yeah, not all my arrows survived today's round of practice. This was from 45 yards and I really didn't think I could hit the exact same spot twice. I'm now down to 7 arrows to shoot the tournament with. I hope nothing happens to my others before this weekend. I have some ordered but they won't be here until later next week.

Re: ASA FOLEY, AL - 02/27/21 01:27 AM

ASA gave us the option to shoot our Sunday round today so I took advantage of it where I could be home for church on Sunday. I didn't shoot as good as I was hoping for but it could have been worse. Maybe I can do better tomorrow and pick up a bunch of points.

How’d you wind up Scott? I watched the Pro Shootdown on the Sportsman Channel. Gotta say, I’m starting to miss it.

I shot better today and ended the day at 18 up. I was 26 up for the weekend. I'm in second place with today's scores but my weak round yesterday will probably knock me off the podium. The good shooters who didn't shoot the optional round on Friday still have to shoot their round tomorrow. Overall I'm happy with it being the first 3D of the year but I've got a few things to work on. It just chaps my azz to shoot 8's on 28 yard target

Thanks guys. This was my first national win and hopefully not the last. I work hard shooting my bow every day trying to stay competitive. Time now to get ready for the Easton southwest shoot out in Paris, Texas on April 22-25th. Anyone on here going?
