What do you say when you want to stop a deer?

Bow, xbow, gun, whatever. Deer is walking and you want it to stop. What do you say?

Depends on the situation. 99% of the time it’s Meh. Just loud enough for him hear, depending on distance. If he’s running or chasing, it’s HEY!!!

I say Meh but I’ve already drawn back before I do.

I don't say anything, just a 'lil whistle. My cousins son sent a video of a nice buck on the go and he said Mehhhh a couple times and I laughed. Just sounded funny

From Mehh up close bow hunting the a full out scream with a gun at long range

If a buck is chasing a doe, I’ll bleat, grunt or whistle. Outside of that situation, I’ll take a walking shot in a heartbeat.

I say Mack - worked a lot - also has backfired before

I whistle. Never had one spook and it ALWAYS has stopped them.

If this werent the bow forum, I'd say "6.5 creedmore!!!"...don't even have to shoot...it just falls over.

Same for me. Most of my bow setups are chip shots so a calm walking shot doesn’t scare me.

I whistle..or squeal atem...I bleat some too...I'd also like to say..ill be at full draw ready to squeeze off the very instance the deer pauses. I also judge how loud I need to be to stop them...sometimes they ain't but a small window of opportunity.. Stopem quick...where you need to stopem to kill..sometimes you gotta talk to one ugly to get his attention...learning how an when to stop deer...comes with experience...almost an art to it.

I whistle at almost everyone with a rifle
