In for a quick hunt at Freedom Hills WMA this morning. I’m on a very high ridge pine bedding area. Not much shooting room due to thickness, but should be a good morning.

Present this morning. Sitting in a clump of big old water oaks surrounded by bedding. I killed my first deer with a bow right here 13 years ago.

I’m set up on the side of a slough in a strip of hardwoods that’s surrounded by bedding area. The more water this place has the better it is. Beautiful morning to watch the sunrise from a tree.

I’m back at my cutover stand, my son came today and he’s in our shooting house. Beautiful day to be in the woods
Seen one big deer slipping through at 9am. Couldn’t tell what it was. It’s way to thick in here to be hunting.

Had a coyote come in behind me, look up at me and circled around. He was about to walk right under my tree

I think we have millennial deer, they sleep in and don’t move to mid day

Same area as this morning on an oak flat That’s on thats on the side of a slough with bedding area next to it. Backed up 100 yards s or so closer to the road, setting on a corner area where the small thick stuff meets the hardwoods. It’s warm in them hills this afternoon.

Pretty sunset. Nothing but squirrels so far.
