LFTT 10/20 - 10/20/19 10:23 AM

About to walk in. Wind is supposed to be goofy today so not sure how this is going to go. Will be parked next to a bedding area I spotted a couple nice bucks earlier in the week. Hopefully I don't booger em up and they play right. Good luck today all

Setup in a doe killing spot, gonna try to shoot one if I get a chance before about 8 or so. I’ve got 3 white oaks dropping in range, a pile of corn, and a small green field starting to sprout. If they are hungry they should be here lol. Got the video camera to self film.

I’m struggling with my self control. Have a 65lb doe at 15 yds right now, and I’m trying my damndest to make it bigger so I can get a kill on film.

I’m overlooking a small plot at a power line opening while my son is overlooking another one of our plots. Hoping he can get his first kill with a bow. Good luck everyone

First sit on a friend’s property that has issues with deer eating up his yard. So much easier than public land!

Charles from Tuscaloosa. Also what looked like a decent 6 pt bolt had pink blood is bright red every 10-15 yards there’s puddle size of a volleyball but in between it’s just drops swacker went straight through but after 75ish yards there’s not a drop. This is my first non gun deer so fingers crossed!

Set up on a buddies place in Lee co. Looking at a freshly disced field and a spin feeder. I’ve seen a coon and coyote so far

Re: LFTT 10/20 - 10/20/19 09:51 PM

Went this morning to Bankhead to try my luck. Saw two small bucks and a doe but nothing close enough. Now I’m back at the house with my 12 year old brother. Hoping he gets a chance at one of these fat does for his first deer. He’s been practicing like crazy with his bow so I hope it works out for us.

Wind shifted and now there’s a blow symphony coming from the clear cut where all of my deer were bedded.

sorry the wind is shifting on you. At lest you know you have deer close by. Good luck maybe one will come on in latter.

Shot a doe shot was a little back but she was quartered and the arrow stayed in so not sure what happened. Sounded like she went less than a hundred yds. I could see blood pouring as she ran off.

House she didn’t go 60 yds. Hit her high in the front of the hindquarter and it hit a rib on the other side towards the back. Severed the femural artery.

Re: LFTT 10/20 - 10/21/19 12:32 PM

Had a shooter 8pt come in from behind me and almost walked under my stand. But because of the good hunter that I am I picked a tree to climb that had a big cedar tree behind it for back cover, and couldn’t get a shot on a buck that stayed in bow range for 10 minutes. slap
