Live from Swan Creek Management area today. Hunting out of the boat today. I’m set up on some whiteoaks dropping very good and a 10 acre swamp to my right for a pinch point. Good luck y’all!

Back on the refuge again today. Acorns sound like rain where I am at. Not too far from a bedding area.

Beautiful morning! At Portland landing this weekend. Saw 3 bucks, 3 does, and 2 spotted fawns yesterday evening.

White stuff coming down. Game on.....

Set up on bankhead with whiteoaks dropping in front of me. Hopefully something comes through. If not atleast I can scout a few places for tomorrow after I climb down.

Just sent one down range. Bit high but saw blood. If I ever quit shaking after a shot I'll quit hunting

2does and buck at 20 yards. No shot just needed one step. Caught my scent and walked out.

Not hunting today but saw 6 bucks yesterday and killed an 8 point.

I’m back. Went and eat lunch in the boat. I’m in the same tree as I was this morning.

I think I have seen over 35 deer since 9am. 8 or so bucks and the rest appear to be does.

Gotcha. I got unit 12 but it ain't til January

Been in the tree since about 1300. No deer stirring, it is still warm if you walking....ugh
I haven’t found many acorns here so far, I may be in the wrong place.

First sit of the year for me. Also my first actual hunt from the saddle. Here we go!

Watching a small pond with acorns falling bedding east of my stand. I am in a climber in a white oak. Not ideal maybe 18 ft high forgot my limb saw. I have had success here in the past fingers crossed.

First sit of the year. Got several oaks dropping around me, so here I wait.

Bibb county. 63 slight east wind. On a hardwood draw between 2 thickets. Walked all over this little draw I’m on and didn’t seem to be a ton of deer sign. There are a few acorns dropping around, but it’s traditionally an excellent early season spot so maybe I’ll get lucky. Bumped 2 different groups of turkeys on the way in

Out on wheeler for my first hunt of the year. In a pine but have some acorns falling around me. Seems to be fresh sign so we will see. I just “scouted” my way in and stopped when I saw something that looked good.

Up a sweet gum in a smz with 5 yo cutover on both sides and good plot in front of me now all we need is a contestant squirrels are out acorns are talking and had a baby possum stroll by lil bit ago

Sitting in a funnel between some really thick bedding and a swamp full of acorns. Creek has them cut off from the acorns and I’m sitting on the best crossing

I’m on a foodplot with lots of water oaks dropping around me...At 3:15, a doe and 2 fawns came out 200 yds. from me. They slowly made their way to a water oak close to me and I got greedy!! The doe was 33 yds. for a few minutes, but I really thought she’d come closer to me. The wind swirled and she caught a whiff of me and they took off. Why’d I do that!?

First sit of the year. Hunting in Blount County on some family land. Watching the corner of a field I planted in late September. Have plenty of does on camera in the afternoon. Hopefully I can get on the board early this season.

Swan creek wma this evening. Recurve ready in the swamp already seen one too far off.

Right after I posted the picture above, a mangy coyote came sneaking into the field. He got up to 30 yds. or so and went behind a bushy water oak. I drew and waited for him to step out. He never gave me a good shot, but I was able to find a hole to see his body. I knew it was gut-ish, but I didn’t care!! I let ‘er fly and he made a 75 yd. death run into the woods behind me with a Rage hole through his guts

I can see right now 2 armadillos, 2 deer, 4 gray squirrels, 1 ground squirrel and 2 dang mosquitos buzzing my ears.

I have never seen so many chipmunks in my life

Just had a doe and fawn come by at 5 yards. Fawn looked like it had lost its spots like yesterday and was probably still nursing. Couldn’t bring myself to kill the doe. Saw a doe through some thick stuff about an hour ago but she was like 80 yards off

Just smoked a doe at 18 yds! Gah I love this feeling never gets old! Ole knees are knocking

Had 3 does come through in bow range. Hoping for a buck in this spot. But dadgum it was hard not to pull the trigger

I had 2 spikes, a doe, and a fawn come into the field and work their way to 20 yards of me. I drew on the doe twice, but never could get a shot I liked. Finally, they all fed to the other side of the water oak they’d been under/behind and the doe finally stopped walking at 32 yards. I shot and she hit the ground like she’d been shot with a cannon!! I think I clipped her shoulder and it paralyzed her. I got another arrow in her at 40 yards and she was done. What a hunt!!!!! It ain’t every day that you see a deer go down from your stand while bow hunting!! Man, I love this!!!!!

I saw a couple does, out of range. Always like seeing deer on public land, though!

I had 4 does and a fawn come into the field about 5:00. Never got in range but just enjoyed seeing deer for the first sit of the year.

I didn’t find any acorns today. I’m gonna have to do some looking. How is your acorn crop?

I can’t step foot i the woods without seeing acorns everywhere! It’s hard to find a hot tree!
