I’m live from Bankhead National Forest this morning. I’m set up on some white-oaks the deer have been hitting hard. The wind is swirling everywhere, so it’s going to be a tuff morning. I ran some off walking in, so I guess they fed all night. Good luck y’all.

I love that wishbone shaped oak just to your front right!! we had a tree like that near a ladder when my boys were little.. deer walked up a trail out of a bottom and stopped and they would shoot them through the fork and they named the stand the Wishbone

The similarities to what I'm currently doing are creepy. OnScreen takeoff, ALdeer and even have the same conversion table within feet of my desk...

Rain started at my house just before daylight, off and on, decided I didn't want to get my gear wet, so I just made a scouting trip to the nearby WMA instead. Saw several does and turkeys, they seemed to be moving extremely well. Came on in to work around lunch, gonna take the whole day off tomorrow and go sit in the wind!

Re: LFTT 10/15/19 - 10/16/19 02:56 AM
Good friend of mine got his 100th archery deer this afternoon.
He’d never brag about it but I’m gonna brag for him.
Super good, unselfish guy who not only slams them himself but helps others too. He’s a hunting machine and it’s still a thrill for him after dang near 40 years of hunting.
If my life depended on sorting out a funky tracking job without a dog, he’s the guy I’d call.
If I had a tree I needed climbed super fast, he’s the guy I’d call.
Did I mention he got No. 100 with a stickbow.
We call him “The Shadow”....

It’s a RK1 by new breed and striker bows. New Breed builds the risers and striker builds the limbs. It’s a #45@28. Shooting beman center shots with aluminum footing,75grain insert and 150grain woodsman

Aluminum footing on carbon? How do you pull that off? I assume you built those arras.

Just went to my local archery shop with my carbons and tried aluminum arrows till I found one that fit tightly over the end. Cut them down to about 4 inches. Used contact cement to attach them to the carbon.

Ive done this before to my arrows, adds a little extra weight and integrity to the arrow shaft...an it looks cool too..amb on here showed me this trick a few years ago on some of his arrows.
