Re: My son stuck one this afternoon - 10/25/18 02:21 AM
Very Nice! I killed a cowhorn spike in velvet around the 1st of November one year that had a large amount of worms around the backstraps and inner loins. Not sure if that's what caused him to still be in velvet, but I've never seen another one like that. Just something to check for.

Nice deer and a stud of a deer but not a “Stud”. Might be a gelding. Injured testical causing low “T” level. Velvet will not shed until the testosterone level gets to a certain level.

Great buck. Low testosterone levels would be my guess. Was his scrotum visible? I've heard of them being killed with their scrotum not descended.

I think low T as well. He had already shed his velvet in early to mid Sept the last 2 years so I suspect maybe an injury over the summer or something.

Great buck. Congrats to your Son.
Good friend of mine killed a mule deer that was a 9x3 with a 10" club pointing down. All in velvet. Cod sack never developed. They called it a cactus buck.
