Arrow shaft recommendation - 08/21/18 01:27 AM
I currently shoot a older Mathews bow. It’s the MQ1. I pull around 63 pounds in the draw. What is anyone’s recommendation on a good brand arrow to try. I currently shoot carbon express maxima hunter. Is there something newer and better to try

I like the GT Hunter XT also. Worked well for me the past 7 years or so

I shot the maximas for several years then decided to "upgrade" to the GT Hunter XTs because so many folks swore by them. I don't have anything bad to say about them, I just didn't care for them any more than the maximas. This year a friend talked me into trying out the Easton Axis and so far I prefer them over the other two. One thing I have found consistent between different brands is I prefer a longer 3" vane to the blazer regardless of the arrow.

So if I decide to go with the Gold tip hunter xt is a blazer vane the way to go ?

I like the blazers. I've never had a clearance issue or a tuning issue with them.

I prefer the VaneTec fletches.

Mr Shaw. I looked on the VaneTec website and wondering which type fletching do you use. Looks like there are 5 different series of VaneTec
