Hey Shaw

Hey Shaw - 05/27/18 01:11 PM

I think my new strings have settled in and are doing what they’re supposed to. I also cut 3 pounds off my draw weight and added 3 more ounces to my back bar. It’s definitely helped me hold better and I’m not having as much trouble getting the release to go off. But I’m gonna have to get some more targets because this gets expensive real quick. All of these are 45 yard groups.

I guess so because I couldn’t hit nothing this weekend in Kentucky. I shot 18 down in the known distance class. I had fun at the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter though.

18 down in known distance??? You suck. grin Heard it was pretty tough with all those dark lanes.

With my lens and a verifier in my peep the target is just a little fuzzy in good light but when it’s in a dark tunnel it’s really fuzzy. This is actually one of the easier ones to see. It was only 26 yards. The black targets I was just hoping that I would hit foam because I literally could not see the target. Then add in a release that half the time would go off when I took the safety off and other times it seems like I’m pulling hard as I can to get it to go off. I shot the first 10 targets on my second round without the lens to see if I could see the target better and because it came a flood on us and everything was wet.

I’d throw that release in the trash. There’s no way I could ever have any confidence in it after all the trouble you’ve had with it. I’d also look dropping down a lens power on your scope so you can do away with the lens in your peep.

I decided Saturday afternoon to go back to my wrist strap release and see how I do with it. I don’t trust myself with a hinge because I can’t seem to let down without it going off. As for the lens I dropped back to a 3x so that it’s not as blurry with a verifier. Without a verifier the pin is blurry. Getting old sucks.

Do you shoot a clicker on that hinge sluggun?

Yes. I do ok getting it to go off on target. I just have trouble letting down and sometimes when I relax settling in to my anchor point the bow will go down and with a hinge I can’t catch it without it shooting.

I've got mine set to where I can draw and let down without any worry of it going off. I use the clicker also and draw with equal pressure across thumb and 4 fingers. I have it set to click as soon as I get to anchor. I did this by slowing the trigger down and began pulling back and letting down. If it wouldn't click, I'd loosen 1/4 turn and repeat. I can't even remember the name of mine now, it's the brass Tru ball 3 finger.

You may have already done all this. It really helped me.
