Not gonna be a very forgiving bow for sure

We got ours in today. I shot it, liked it, and ordered my personal bow.

I believe it will be. The DXT and Z7 Xtreme were about the same. I really like the looks of it. It may be 28” axle to axle, but with those cams you will have the string angle of 34 to 35” axle to axle bow at full draw.

Mathews comes out with alot of new bows. What do they improve on them as they come out with new ones?

Re: New Mathews is short - 11/15/17 12:50 AM

The dxt and hxt are awesome tree stand bows since they are easy to maneuver and quiet. Having said that, they were not the easiest to consistently stack arrows for me. I was plenty good enough with them, but the short axle to axle caused me accuracy issues. I prefer something in the 32"- 33" range. I'm sure mathews will sell a pile of the triax though.

Got a feeling I’m going to thin my herd and get one.

Ready to hold one. I was not crazy about how the Halon felt.

I liked my Halon and Halon 32. I'm ready to get back to a shorter bow. The Triax feels good to me.

I shoot a ZXT and love it. Had the same concerns, but have found it to be just fine and dandy.

I've thought about shooting this one. It may make me go back to Mathews. I guess I'd have to get over the split limbs.

The limb and limb pocket design on the Halon and this one is their best yet.

Some may think the ATA is too short to be forgiving, but then look at the size of the wheels. The wheels are what are actually holding the string, vs the axle. Shorter ata but bigger wheels, can also hit the treestand with the bigger wheel. Pick the bow that fits you best and you have the most confidence in. Be careful of the bows surroundings and you will be fine.

Split limbs and two cams....they are just Hoyt wannabe's....haha

Re: New Mathews is short - 12/15/17 04:33 PM

Not ugly enough to be a Hoyt. Hoyts are to bows what the Super Vinci is to shotguns. Decent but as ugly as they come. I’ve shot the Triax and it does not shoot like a short bow. Like the above poster said with the cams being so large it’s not really that short of a bow

The cams look as big as a frisbee.

Re: New Mathews is short - 12/17/17 07:26 PM

I shot one last week. Hands down the smoothest and quietest bow I ever shot. Wish they was available for purchase I would’ve bought one

The store had one but it wasn't for sale??

I think I’m going back to Mathews after this year. I held a few at Marks last week and they still feel great in the hand. I need to go shoot a few models and decide on a model.

Re: New Mathews is short - 12/24/17 02:20 PM

I thought I'd love a short bow for hunting, but after owning a few I always ended up going back to something around 33" ATA. Not sure what it is but I can't hold the little bows near as well or shoot anywhere near as good with small ATA bows.

Re: New Mathews is short - 12/26/17 06:06 PM

This only issue I can forsee would be cam lean. However it looks like a nice bow.

I plan to shoot one soon.

Re: New Mathews is short - 12/26/17 07:55 PM

Ive been shooting a 30 in ATA mission since I started. Fits great from shootong over the rail in my climber. Less forgiving at long range, but long range is just for practice anyways.
