Present, hunting on this old mountain today. Wind is flat cutting loose here in Madison county. I may need some Dramamine for motion sickness... There was frost on windshields this morning.

I'm on the edge of a fresh clear cut. My camera has been capturing deer walking close to this tree. Yesterday was bad, only saw one deer

32 with a north wind here at NC. In a mix of oak and pine with the rut in full swing. Got off to a rough start but I’m all settled in now

2 yearlings just walked through at 50 yards

Nothing but turkeys so far on this oak flat.

Set up on the oak trees near the bedding area.

Seen 8 so far. Brother has seen 6

Wind is swirling like crazy this morning. Set up in a hard wood head with a fresh clear cut to my back. For cover sent I'm using a timber cutter, 3 skidders, a loader, a de-limber, a bulldozer, a motor grader, 4 off road semis and a thousand or so cut pine trees. Now if they would just crank one of those up maybe it would move something by me.

Back in my spot have let it rest for a week seen 2 spikes 15 min ago. Happy to see deer again in this spot afraid I had tarnished it coming to much during 1st week of season.

Ended up seeing 18 between the 2 of us

Saw 0, wind is blowing too hard. Packed up and headed home.

Didn't see a deer, only 2 turkeys and 3 dogs

On a green patch I hadn’t hunted. Not all is rosy though. Red oak I’ve had a ladder stand in for 18 years has died. I’m sitting it anyway today but it has to be moved. Not any great trees nearby to put it in. Makes me sick. This is my “quick hunt” spot after work and ballgame days. I got 3 stands up. Oaks 2 of them are in have died.

You must be Really Old to our live 2 oaks!! Or they got tired of you!! Lol

I ain’t that old. They got tired of living. Damn drought didn’t help.
