Can't see anything in the fog in Madison county. I'm here anyways, I think something will move when the rain eases up.

Re: LFTT 11/4/17 - 11/04/17 07:00 AM

Didn't see anything yesterday afternoon but I'm back in the same spot. Got in in the dark and rain. Rain stopped and the sun came up and I'm fairly cool. I think the rain helped

Re: LFTT 11/4/17 - 11/04/17 07:00 AM

Set up over looking a greenfield that has some persimmon trees around it. Not where I wanted to come but the rain made me stay close to the truck. Stupid turkeys gobbling they head off.

Tiring in the light rain this morning. Got my dad out here on the food plot and I'm in the woods. Feels like the deer should move right after the rain

Re: LFTT 11/4/17 - 11/04/17 07:05 AM

I'm finally settled in. Waited on a little rain to pass. Setup on the corner of a pine thicket between hardwood creek bottom and cutover. Good luck guys.

Re: LFTT 11/4/17 - 11/04/17 07:21 AM

Just had a momma and two fawns come by at 10yds working theses white oaks on their way back to bed. Sitting a hardwood funnel feeding into a bedding area along the flint river. Looking to stock the freezer but there is a 3.5yro 10pt that's been in this area this week. Wouldn't mind letting one fly through him.

Re: LFTT 11/4/17 - 11/04/17 08:11 AM

With work I still haven't got to go. My brother went to go with his son to an old spot we used to go on Wheeler but he said there was a hunting party there. 6 people on about 60 acres, 4 by boat and 2 walking in. Needless to say he went somewhere else

Re: LFTT 11/4/17 - 11/04/17 04:03 PM

Couldn’t take it, so I’m here. Set up under a white oak with lots of sign. Had a camera on this tree for quite some time and just checked it, lots of does coming in at 6 every evening. Maybe they’ll keep that pattern up and the wind stays good to me!

No luck today from the stand, but I did bump two groups of deer on the loooong walk out. I walked in 560 yards to a flat that had hardwoods on it. Never saw a thing. I’m wore slap out. Gonna give it another go tomorrow.

Re: LFTT 11/4/17 - 11/05/17 09:00 PM

Dawn to dusk, 10,000 white oak acorns fell all around me,squirrels, 2 hens, and an unidentified creature that jumped into the creek and then back out. I could see it moving slowly but couldn't tell what it was.

Oh yeah, pretty sure I jumped a buck walking in 'cause I heard it cross the creek just up ahead of me and pretty sure I jumped him again coming out. I'd say he had me patterned but that's the first time I've hunted anywhere near there this year.
