The pirogue rides are open again this year. Too bad the first customer was a 2 y/o 8 point. I got a little antsy on this one.

Show us a pic. You know we love seeing deer in the pirogue.

Atta boy Brad. If he got you going and you were on your own place, don’t worry about it. Looks like supper to me! Just be glad you aren’t stuck in a class like me all week!
Congrats Brother. Looks like a great evening!

Thanks guys. Yeah, the whole hunt got me pumped. I drew on this deer 3 different times before getting a clear shot at 10 yards. I had a 6 point that had made his way underneath my stand and 4 does at about 20 yards while I was drawing and letting down. I don't know how I was able to do that without them seeing me.
My Dad came to help me get him out. He cut a sapling down and we used it to tote the deer out Indian style.

Congrats! I've poled a couple out before also. It still sucks.
Congrats! That’s awesome... and he gets to go for a little night time boat ride out of there.

Congrats. Would it not have been easier on ya'll to gut him and lighten your load by 20lbs or so?

No. Totally not worth it for me.
