Sitting in truck waiting for rain to quit then gonna put my son on his stand and go get on mine

Here in a tree overlooking some white oaks. I must be pretty mad at them. It’s raining pretty good. Got my rain suit on. Chance of rain drops as the morning goes on. From the looks of the radar we should be on the back end of it. At least I hope so. Gonna try to sit hit for a while. Good luck everybody. I’m betting on them moving as this stuff passes on by. Can’t kill one from my couch!

Good luck to both of you and everyone else that gets out there. I plan to get out there around lunch after the kids school festival. Yesterday afternoon was pretty good other then the whiplash from the pine I was in. I ended up seeing 4 doe and a decent 8 but never got closer then 62 yards. Maybe he'll show again this afternoon.

Here in extreme east AL it ain't supposed to stop till 4:00 according to the forecast. Think I'll sit this one out, sure don't wanna get all my stuff wet and then it be 30 degrees and windy in the morning!! That'd be rough with a wet treestand! LOL

I’m in a tree in Kansas. It’s 24 and clear here. Saw a giant on the road on our way in.

Same spot as yesterday afternoon. Ran 2 off coming in.

Should be moving good this morning. Meet at work this weekend but on good side my Dad hunted at my lease and he saw 2 of my shooters but couldn't get a shot last evening. Hope all y'all good luck and be safe.

Cold here in Missouri. Just had a nice buck walk by. He was probably 80 yards away.

I don’t know wth is going but at 8:15 I heard a woman screaming bloody murder for several minutes - coming from the closest house almost half a mile away. Over the last twenty minutes at least 5 different emergency vehicles have arrived with sirens blaring. My truck is parked about 300 yds from that house. I hope there’s not a manhunt underway. I left my pistol in the truck. No deer yet either.

Well dang...


Everyone be safe and kill a big deer! I sat out this morning, have a big test to take but will be out there this evening I hope!

Well had to tap out. Thought rain had stopped. To real good showers got my son wet and freezing. Gonna go dry clothes and come back in the pm

Have seen a couple more small bucks. The bucks are up cruising. Looks like the guy will kick off soon up here.

Nothing but a yearling and some squirrels so far.

Saw two big does at 7:15am....













while in my truck going to Win Dixie to get some bacon and Ribeyes which were on sale.

Great morning to sit out , I'll get some rest then be in a stand at daylight in the morning when its 36 degrees clear and calm.

Still in a tree. Gonna try and make it til dark. Hopefully I’ll be dragging one out before then.

Just finished my mid-term, think I may celebrate by climbing up in a tree.

I'm in Las Vegas celebrating the wife's 40 th birthday this weekend. No hunting for me guys. Good luck and kill some big bucks!!!

Sat this morning out. Got up, checked radar and back to bed.

Plan on getting in tree this afternoon.

We got pics of some does coming to a field about 5:30ish. Guess I’m gonna hunt a greenfield

Saw an 8pt, spike, doe and fawn between 10 and 11:30. Didn't get settled til 8. Creek was too swollen to cross and get to my initial sp0t. Eating and will be headed right back out shortly.

Set up on some public land in MS. Hunting the border of an old food plot and some oaks/pines where I busted a doe from under a crab apple tree this morning while scouting. Scouted for about 3.5 hours this morning and didn't find a single acorn.

I hunted this morning.. walked in during a lull in the showers. Got up the mountain, climbed up the tree and all set up just in time for the showers to really set back in. Rained good all the way till about 10. Just got home. Wanted to sit all day, but didn't have it in me.

My wife bought me one of those camo tree umbrellas last year. This morning was my first time using it. It was dang nice to have

I battled a bad headache last night and didn’t sleep much. Add the rain to that I just stayed in bed. Got in the stand about 1130 and haven’t seen anything so far.

Just had a small doe feed around me for about 30 minutes.

Shaw you must have a comfortable stand...I need a new one if I’m gonna sit all day.

Just had a spike come through and then see me at about 5 steps. I think there's a Sasquatch behind me with all the ruckus back there.

Hunting public land today, set up on a group of white oaks raining down acorns. First time I’ve stepped foot in this area this year, maybe coming in blind will change my luck. Good luck and stay safe.

New spot, feels like a good area. Plenty of sign. Scouted my way in.

I had planned on posting how it was nice getting up in the tree without breaking a sweat, but then realized I had left my stinking stand on the ground and had to do an extra trip up and down. At least I’m in a good spot. In a pinch-point between two large areas of timber, acorns everywhere, 5 acres of dried soybeans to my left, and a few beaten down trails below me.

There were 3 in the field when I got here. Had two more spook while I was trying to get up the tree in this pos xop. Then saw 2 more way off about 30 minutes ago

In a brand new club this year here in walker county. Got settled in a ladderstand between 2 greenfield and a pine thicket. Nothin yet. Hope everybody has a good evening.

I walked in while it was raining to a greenfield. I had to do a lot of pruning after I got in the tree and 5 deer come onto the field from 3 different directions and spooked off. I have my umbrella up and everything pruned back now a a doe if at the other end of the field. It may be a good afternoon.

Had fawn under me for 45 min. Looking at this awesome stand at 30ft up. Bet no harness was involved. Good looking spot though.

Set up on edge of greenfield. Weather kept us in this am. Judging by tracks they moved rite after the rain pretty good. Should be a good pm if the wind lays!

Hunting Bankhead again. Had a small spike come in and start munching on acorns. The NW wind we're supposed to have had a little too much SW in it for his liking.

Big doe came by at about 25 yrds and I couldn't help it. Shot looked good!!

Sitting on edge of a plot. Deer moving good just nothing close enough. Saw 9 does and yearlings so far.

Got my first bow kill and retrieved it this afternoon. Pics and story to come.

Skunked again. 0/5 on deer sightings this year. Lost my quiver full of arrows coming out, this season hasn’t started out well.

Nothing for me. Son had one come in downwind and blow, and he got hit by a hawks wing so he had at least some action

Congrats stone man and spec. I ended up seeing about 20 close by and another 10-15 on another field that I could see across a clear cut. No shooters though.

Sorry. I ended up sitting until 11am and then hurried home to do something with the family. All of the emergency vehicles had left by the time I walked out. I'm still not sure what in world was going on.
