single pin adjustable sights - 08/14/17 04:34 PM

I've decided to switch from my 3 pin sight to a single pin adjustable sight but I don't know squat about em. What are some good single pin sights?

If I were buying today it would be a Montana Black Gold Ascend.

tfd1224 has talked me into an Hha king pin. Looks pretty sweet.

HHA, Spot Hogg, Black Gold. All great choices.

That's what I'm using this year also. Nice for sure.

I debated between the Black Gold ascent, HHA and spot Hogg. Narrowed it down to the spot Hogg and the BGA, and I ended up going with black gold because I was trying to shave weight on my bow since we hike most of the day. All 3 are great sights.

I couldn't stand the HHA Kingpin. I liked the HHA Optimizer Ultra better. I still prefer a 3 pin sight to the single pin, though.

Just curious. What didn't you like about it?

now it did take me a little bit to set the 20yd and 60yd but when I got I dialed in I can roll that sucker to 100yds and stick a arrow in my block target on a calm day. I am not very accurate at that distance, naturally, but I can hold a dang fine group from 70yds and in. I WOULD NEVER shoot at a deer at those distances but it's fun to practice at from time to time.

His issue was with where the dial was located vs. the Optimizer Ultra.

What is the difference between the king pin ($350) and the hha optimizer ultra ($279).?

Re: single pin adjustable sights - 08/17/17 01:13 PM

The King Pin has 2nd and 3rd axis adjustments. The yardage wheel location is different. On the King Pin it is in front of the riser, on the Optimizer it is even with the riser. The yardage wheel is easier to adjust (re-zero) and is removeable. This allows you to shoot multiple arrow setup's out of the same bow. All you have to do is change the wheel out.

Man I'm glad I switched to this Hha! I've been shooting off and on all day while doing yard work. I feel a lot more deadly with this sight. No more getting messed up with witch pin to shoot. It's freakin' on son !!!
