Shout out to climber stand

Shout out to climber stand - 11/26/16 02:27 PM

I just wanna say that I have hunt out of about every stand summit, X stands, millenium, API's etc. YOU cannot not beat a Summit for comfort, but portability can it be beat. I say yes. I received my Lone Wolf Hand Climber II The other day just in time for an evening hunt. ALSO purchased the foot rest and a small thick foam seat due to hearing complaints about the small hard seat. IT was the fastest, quietest, most portable stand I have ever hauled into the woods and I wall way in there. The setup up took me less than 30 sec to have on tree and was very easy to climb with and the cast base bites the tree like no other I've had. I'M not affiliated with Lone Wolf at all but just want to say if you guys are looking for a quality stand that is just flat out portable light and quiet check them out. They are a bit pricey but we'll worth it. Pacing together is super easy also. Sorry for the rant but man what a stand. 6 hour sit no problem.

Re: Shout out to climber stand - 11/26/16 03:06 PM

Lone Wolf's have been my main climber for 10 years now. I've got the hand climber top for one of my stands, but since my back surgery, I can't sit in it very long. So I went back to the sit & climb top with a net seat. I've pulled numerous all day sits in it with no problems.

Thanks for this review and endorsement. I just sold a Summit I'd had for 13 years due to being tired of lugging the thing around. I've been eyeing a Lone Wolf and I think you just sold me.

Re: Shout out to climber stand - 11/26/16 07:43 PM

I don't understand the more pack able thing. They aren't any lighter than summits

Re: Shout out to climber stand - 11/26/16 09:04 PM

They pack flat. But I strap my back pack to the stand so there really is no advantage for me as far the stand packing flat. It is however the quietest and easiest to set up that I have ever used. For me my LW sit and climb was not as easy to climb as other stands. Because the belts aren't very stiff they are easily hung up on small branches. Having said that I very well may go back to LW for next season.

Re: Shout out to climber stand - 11/26/16 09:06 PM

They fold down flat and aren't as awkward on your back.

Re: Shout out to climber stand - 11/27/16 12:47 PM

Like I said. I'm not affiliated with Lone wolf or any outdoor sales. Just don't have a lot of time to hunt so I want every hunt to be efficient and enjoyable. Most of my stands are sticks and hang ons anyways but like to have climber for the what ifs and have nots. I'm always looking for the best and most efficient way to get in quiet and get up quiet and like shaw said it packs flat and the cams that clamp the belt are just stinkin great. A lil bit of tree prep before season cutting limbs and this would be all you need.

They went to China. Here's a reply I got from them Monday.

Yes, we have moved our production over seas. Our cast platform patent
expired in July which now will allow our competition to produce a cast
stand. If we would have stayed in the USA we would have incurred higher
pricing for 2010. We are maintaining the quality and have no plans on
changing the stands in the future, thank you.

Sales
(309) 691-9653
(309) 693-9410 FAX NO.

It is settled. They sold out and the prices are not dropping even with that cheap overseas labor.

Re: Shout out to climber stand - 11/27/16 03:55 PM

Been saying this about lone wolf for more than a year now!! Glad another Summit user has crossed to the dark side. Your life isn't worth using those inferior foreign built stands. BTW Lone Wolf has sale through 11/30 w $50 off and flat rate shipping. No I don't work for them. Just love their quality product. Try an Alpha w sticks & you will know what the lightest hunting package is.

LW is lighter than summit.

This is correct. Or at least that is my understanding. 2010 was the only year LW was made overseas. The product did not meet thier standards so they moved all production back to the USA. I believe that one of the original designers of the LW stands is now the owner of XOP. And they are made over seas. But from what I have read the XOP stands are now very good quality.

Re: Shout out to climber stand - 11/27/16 05:46 PM

Purchased my second treewalker promag this year. Feels good to have another one in the stable, now I can be a bit more mobile in my set ups.

I tried to find a reason to purchase a lone wolf, or one of the new summits, or a xop, and I just couldn't do it. Sticking with what works and what I love. I'll give one of those lone wolf stands a try one day.

Re: Shout out to climber stand - 11/27/16 05:55 PM

I'd have to see and/or try a treewalker out in person before I bought one. From looking at them on their website, it doesn't look like anything that I would like.

Just went to the Lone Wolf website to look at the different models. Do they not offer a model with a shooting rail?

They offer a shooting rail as an accessory. I believe it works with the sit and climb

Re: Shout out to climber stand - 11/29/16 05:39 PM

Maybe for bow only.... but I'd just rifle hunt off the ground if it was that big an issue.

I've been to the tree walker website but I didn't see where there was a list of dealers.Where could I get my hands on one to see if I like them?

Re: Shout out to climber stand - 11/30/16 05:34 AM

No dealers. On line orders only.

I like my LoneWolf because if need be it is easy to stick in the cab of your truck due to how it folds up.

Re: Shout out to climber stand - 12/01/16 11:11 AM

For those of you who own or have used them, would any of the 2 Lone Wolf Hand Climbers be a challenge for a bigger guy who is in fairly decent shape? I'm a svelt 260 cool

Re: Shout out to climber stand - 12/01/16 02:06 PM

I'm about 6'1 with boots and a solid 250. I have no problem with it and I'm fairly new to it. It should only get easier.

It has always been a family operation. You can see TREEWALKERS at deer shows too. They are great stands.I have the model with removable front bar and shooting rest. I haven't regretted the purchase once. Hunt Safe
