Finally about to head out for the first time this season! Good luck everyone!

Just got settled in here in walker co. On a little transition area between oaks and bedding area. Plenty of does coming through just no bucks showing up just yet

Hunting Bankhead National Forest this morning. I'm set up on a pine ridge logging road leading to a 4 year old cutover bedding area. The rut is on and I dropped my grunt call to the ground first thing after I got setteled in. I wish I had a spare in my back pack.

I'm here just got settled in figured I would walk in late and quiet, deer have been moving just before shooting time and then midday. Spooked 3 does at the base of my tree. Not the way I wanted to start it out but hopefully a cruzing buck will show up.

I hate when that happens JD.

Small 8 pt just walked under my stand. Grunting every once in awhile little guy is feeling strange new feelings lol.

Another small spike just went through hopefully grandpa will be on his way shortly.

I'm watching a real nice 8 pt. that's just laying next to an oak tree and not moving..... He's on my left monitor at work! (my 8 pt. from Fort Knox last Monday!) Actual work is occurring on my middle monitor! Outlook has crashed on my right monitor! Claims Rep. is stuck at work!!! Y'all get 'em this morning!

Y'all go get em! I'm considering heading to Cahaba for my first sit of the year, but I'm also considering waiting until Friday when the front comes through. Grad school is just too much work.

Caught a glimpse of a few deer, but couldn't tell what they were. I need my grunt call. Dang it!

They are definitely moving HD just had a group of 4 doe walking by. Seemed pretty jumpy maybe a few bucks have been harassing them.

Just had a 4 point ease through.

Just had a sneak attack cough then heard something crash in the woods. I keep telling myself it was just a limb and not a deer. SMH

Still here 1 doe came threw about 1pm but that's it.

Dang Nathan, I went and hung a lock on and took a nap and you still in the tree. Now I'm in a hardwood draw leading to some cutover the deer are feeding in like a green field. Now if they will just stop and eat these post oaks, maybe I will get a shot. Good luck y'all.

Well had an armadillo come through at 2pm and stayed the rest of the evening loud little jokers. Hopefully tomorrow some shooters will show up. Today's total 8 Doe's and 2 bucks (small 8 and spike).

Saw a bunch of tree rats, listened to two turkeys cluck and Yelp all afternoon Long but no deer
