Lone Wolf / XOP - 10/09/16 04:05 PM

Just climbed my first tree with my XOP sit & climb wide, and wow!! I think this is the easiest stand I've ever climbed with. And it's going to be great bow hunting in it with the open front. I definitely see what all the rave is about. It's low profile sits close to the tree so you feel like your part of the tree. Guys, do y'all use screw in bow holders with these stands, or do you use the one that is made in the platform? I really don't see how it works.i don't see a great place for my third hand mount.

I use the one built into the LW platform, but i wrapped the casting with paracord so it wouldn't be metal against the bow limb.

I just screw a bow holder into the tree....I hardly ever sit down anyway, so I like the top cam of the bow to be slightly higher than my head.

I bought a Third Hand Holder for my LW hand climber and it doesn't really work for me since I shoot with quiver on and I am a rightie, so things were kinda cramped. I paracord wrapped and use the built in holder.

For ideas on how to attach the Third Hand Holder to the sit n climb and many other types of stands, see this thread from Archery Talk.

Something I figured out over the weekend sitting in a tree in MS. Using the built in wrapped with paracord my Creed XS sometimes will stick and not want to come out easily. Use your boot gently nudge the string side of the cam/wheel forward while leaning the top of the bow back and it will come out easy.

Pretty sure that's the model. It's the wide model.
