I only carry stuff I put in my pockets... But I usually only hunt daylight til 10 the 2-dark...

If I were hunting all day I might would consider carrying a back pack...

I always end up bringing mine because 1. I HATE having stuff in my pockets most of the time, and 2. I'm diabetic and need a few extra things when I'm in the woods alone.

I bring: knife, compass, TP, thermacell, flashlight, apple juice (for my blood sugar), glucose tabs, and maybe snack.

What are you going to do with an extra bow string? Bring a press too?

Edit: I see shooting tab now, unfamiliar with trad bows, I guess you can do that in field

jbc, you can use a tab or glove with a recurve or longbow.
I've only needed an extra string once in the field but it's better to be prepared.lol

My bow
license/tags
water bladder FULL
water purifier
spare release
2 headlamps
GPS
spare batteries for the above
trail marking ribbon
reflective tacks
knife
small saw
Para chord
Montana elk decoy with stakes
food/snacks
TP for the obvious
phone & charger
xtra can of tabacky

This is all for elk hunting, I lighten the load when deer hunting. If hunting cooler weather, I add a space blanket and fire starter. I also keep pretty much all of my field dressing items with my frame pack. Knives, bone saw, bed sheet or tarp, game bags or pillow cases.

I have a camo fanny pack I carry when bow hunting early season. It's less cumbersome and allows me to carry my stand/bow on my back. I usually carry a few pieces of toilet paper, flashlight, bow hanger, face paint or mask, bottle of water, pack of crackers, WMA permit, knife, limbsaw, phone charger and garbage bag.
