Tannehill Trad Shoot is This Weekend

In case anyone wants to go, the traditional archery shoot and shindig is this weekend at Tannehill State Park west of Bumminhamus.

Don't they have another shoot in April or May? I've never been to one and I'd love to go. What's average distance on targets? I'm comfortable 15-18 yds.

There's one coming up at brierfield iron works March 12-13. You'll have a blast.

ya'll missed a good shoot, perfect weather, and lots of vendors.

It has been 6 years since I went to a shoot, got burned out organizing and running them, may have to try and make it to one.

I'm gonna have to drag my longbow out and come up there and show Paw Paw Fred how to shoot one of these days.

you might beat me because they will let you shoot from the kids stakes......

All this talk about short steaks.....no shame. Shaw, I hope you do bring out the longbow. It's a nice one. Btw, I Don't think Fred is gonna get up off of his Knapping chair long enough to shoot so no threat there.

I got a stick on rest on mine. Can I shoot as long as I don't turn in a score card for the competition?

the shoot this weekend is a fun shoot with no scores turned in.

I think you could shoot at the other shoots without score turned in and be ok.

What do target distances typically run?

some small ones(rabbit0 at ten yards, most at 15-25 yards, some longer. Usually one elk size at 50

Troy, Abe, Shaw dang guys its been 10 years since I shot a trad round. How about a reunion round sometime this year. I may need someone to pull some arrows then I can pencil whup you all.

I haven't shot a trad round in about 10 years myself.

You guys keep me in the loop. I use to shoot all of them but hurt my shoulder about 4 years ago. It took me over a year to recover to the point that I could shoot again and I haven't been since. I would like to meet some of you guys if you get a trip going.
