DW posted it in the General Forum as well. Wear them. Don't be like this guy:



Got the pic off of FaceBook. Supposedly in North Carolina. He was climbing and the top half of his stand broke. He fell backwards and his feet hung up in the stirrups. Keep those tether ropes short and above your head AT ALL TIMES!!!

dayum.

I just made the switch to a rock-climbing style harness. should be here tomorrow, so I should have a Gorilla vest-style harness available if y'all know anyone that needs one. may have a couple of others too (just inexpensive strap-styles)

I strap my hhs to the tree when I get in the stand before climbing and then unhook it from the tree when I get out of the stand. It is not hard to move the strap up every 2 or so climbs and dang sure makes me feel safer. Buckle up guys!

Exact same thing happened to me when I was a teenager over a decade ago. Fire truck had to cone get me. I have not used a climber since. Cable on the top section snapped on my way down the tree.
