Set up on a food plot with a couple of red oaks dropping in bow range.

It's still coming down pretty good here.

The chipmunks are stashing the hell out of these acorns.

Im at work in Pike county, but the deer are up and feeding in a rain of biblical proportions.

Its been coming a monsoon here since about 4/o'clock. I bet we've gotten a couple inches of rain at least.

It's barely misting in Chilton county. I saw three does on my way home from work. All were eating water oak acorns.

I just had three does come in.

Starting to clear off over here in west Bama.

Nothing so far and the rain is coming in spells.

I wish I would have shot one of those heifers now

Sun is starting to come out at work.

Saw more deer this morning on the drive into work than I have in a few months.

I might have underestimated that total just a wee bit......

It was raining harder than anything this morning, but saw three doe in the front field on my way to work. They know when I have work and when I don't. I swear on work days they stand by the drive way and wave and wish me a good day. When I'm off...they disappear. It's torture.

Thanks guys. The rest of my season will be through this forum...lol. I didn't do too bad. I killed 4 behind the house and one decent 7 pt. I killed a 180 3/8 buck in kentucky in early September and went home last weekend to Georgia and shot an ol doe with the smoke pole. I would say my short season was quite successful. Gone hate missing duck season but I should be home in time to kill a few thunderchickens.

I'm set up in one of my favorite spots. I'm in a hardwood flat with a beaver pond to my back at the start of a choke point between a large field and the pond. Sat this spot twice last year and saw a 6, 8 and an old 9pt. I gave the 9pt a buzz cut across his back. I'm hoping for a little redemption.

Up in my tree and still here at my 18 acre swamp in etowah co. Wind in my face and acorns falling. It's hot but I'm glad to be here. With a two and five year old my hunting schedule is slim. Good luck to everybody this evening.

I set up about 80 yards from the interstate. Got a buck on camera in the area hopefully he shows tonight!

Stat safe brother. They have moved me to battalion so I will be sitting out for a rotation.

Had a yote sneak through at 70 yards in some thick stuff.

I've seen one so far. It was only about a mile and a half away.

Doe and two yearlings. Man these deer have some weight on them

Lighted nocks are great for finding does with broadheads stuck in opposite shoulders.

That doe has black hocks already. Congrats.

The doe I killed was the same way. She actually stunk a little too like a rutty buck type smell. Not sure what that was about.

Idk about all the others but Norton works nights and must absolutely hate deer and never sleeps haha. He's dedicated that's for sure. And shaw has 150 vacation days a year.

I was just thinking "Don't these guys work?" They hard core.

Clark gets after them enemies like he did the deer then they in deep dooly. Saying a prayer for your safe return and that you'll stay strong.

Hey Fur, I'll be LFTT the rest of this week and next week. Gonna try to get my nephew his first deer next weekend.

Congrats David on the doe kill. Is that a Trad arrow laying next to the doe? What did you shoot her with?

I picked up a compound again to tinker with it. Been difficult to settle in and pick a pin after pulling to corner of mouth and releasing instinctively.

I'm having fun though!!

I understand. There have been several times in the past when I laid down the trad gear to shoot my compound and tried to let go of the release. Good thing it was strapped on. LOL!!! BTW, awesome shot placement on the doe. That shot takes the running gear out quick.

Chased hogs on the corp land with my bow this afyernoon. Seen 8 just never could get the shot I wanted
