I wouldn't mind having a bullet or gambler, but with a mild motor. Saving at the pump is more intriguing to me than going over 75mph.

Been there done that couple miles to a gallon hundred in gas every other weekend got old.

I get 4.5 - 5 mpg cruising*.

That's not bad if I could have got that out of my old carb mercury 2.5 I would have held on to it. Hard to keep your foot out of it too.

Well, there's your problem. I would not own a carb motor these days. EFI motors are much easier to tune.

Hull design has a lot to do with my efficiency, too. Get the Ally up on the pad running 5000 rpm, and the engine will sip fuel. Really put your foot into it, and you can hear the engine gulping it down.

All them boys that talk in terms of RPM's instead of MPH's all seem to have one thing in common: if it is blowing, they ain't going.

It is all smack talk and chests stuck out until you start talking about some big water and then....silence.

But, I will admit, it is fun going fast.

But as you move north, the water can get plenty big plenty fast. I've seen some days on Gville that there were some true 3 foot waves. Notice I said "true 3 foot waves".

I've seen a couple of days on Pickwick when the wind is straight out of the West at 15-20mph and TVA is running 150,000 the waves were probably closer to 4ft. That much wind + that much current = stacked up big ass waves.

As you go further north and start talking about true 6-8 footers....it ain't no fun, no matter what you are in...

I loved my 280 Paul Nichols did a couple years back. She was a monster! Went to a 300x after that and now I'm running a 250xs.... Probably gonna get me another screamming 280 one day but I need the 3.0L to push my Bullet 21v... Been thinking a 20ft center console super comp hull is on its way in my garage before long

I am not accustomed to not having one freaking clue what someone is talking about when it comes to boats, motors, or fishing. That said, what language is it that y'all are speaking? Cause I am lost as a Bama fan taking the ACT....

Sorry, Brother most of the ramble is just engine sizes.... A 21v is a model of Bullet boat...supercomp hull means it was made extremely light hulled for competition with other boats such as Allison or to just basically have a lighter hull option to choose from when ordering a boat from Bullet so that one may haul even more azz.

Paul does great work. Doesn't try to rip you off, either. The rip off artists are why I learned to build them myself to begin with.

I understood the bullet and hull design stuff, but the whole "280, horns, and liters" just kinda had me a little puzzled. I knew that it had to do with Ricky Bobby "I like to go fast"... But that is about it.

If it isn't something that I can't take to the service yard and get worked on between day 1 and day 2 (meaning that it is under warranty and therefore I ain't having to do no "mechanic-in" or pay to have it fixed) then I don't need it. I am a little too hard on equipment, I guess.
