Dont let the heat bother you or the boat traffic, go fishing! I went to lay yesterday from 1-5pm and caught the crap out of them. I think I have caught more giants on July 4th than any other day of the year so get out and go fishing this weekend if you get the chance. I am gonna go again shortly

I would rather hit my pecker on a stump than fight the holiday boat traffic on the lake

July 4th weekend is when all the guys that hardly ever take the boat out take the boat out. It’s about like launching at Billy Goat Hole opening day of snapper season. Let the fun begin!

LOL, I hate Guntersville this time of year on weekends.

That said, below the dam is generally much calmer if you want to get away from “Most” of the idiots.

A few years ago my son and I went down there on the 4th weekend. There was dang jet skis all over the place and party barges. It was like fishing in a washing machine. I was shocked to see all the pleasure boating below the dam.

Put in at Wedowee Saturday morning big fish hunting without success. About 9 I picked up a shaky head & had a limit of spots for the skillet in about an hour.

I like to fish more than most but I put my stuff up for a couple months during the summer or I'll hate it. Gotta have that break so I don't burn out

I have not been since the last ABT event....hard to get motivated in the heat...but I'm sure I'll make it out before long...I hope 🤔

I didn’t rejoin my hunting club this year and bought a used boat. I figured I’ll be on the water a lot this fall

Do what I do: cast and blast. There's plenty of hunting land around a lake or river here in Alabama from the TN River down the Coosa all the way to the Mobile Delta. Early in the season when it's hot, I'll hunt in the AM and fish in the PM. When it gets cold, I'll switch it up. It's better if you can take someone with you.
