Seriously? I had heard it wasn't as good due to lack of fertile soil being lake is mostly Rick bottom? But wasn't sure.
I know the water is very clear

I lived in tuscaloosa for 15 years and fished a lot of tournaments on that lake. I won a 20 boat 3 fish tournament with 3 bass that weighed like 2.80. I've seen a lot of 5 fish 12 inch limits that weighed around 3.5lbs

My dad and I used to go night fish it a good bit and caught a lot of spots in the fillet range. It’s not known for being a Great Lake.

I live in Tuscaloosa and will drive 2 or more hours one way to fish somewhere else, when my boat is less than a mile from a ramp.

So check this out a bunch of us local petitioned the city to stock the lake with baitfish and bass fry being totally funded locally not costing taxpayers a dime with hopes that it might help and we were shot down by the state saying it wouldn't help at all and it would be a waste of money.
