Lowrance HDS 9 Carbon vs hook reveal 9

New to all this electronics and want to upgrade to something with side scan, not dropping the money for live imagine at this time. Cabelas has the HDS 9 Carbon and the Hook Reveal 9 bothe for the same price. What would be the advantage of 1 or the other? I've read the specs and cannot figure out what the difference is. Wanting to stay with lowrance because I'm already using the hook 5 and sorta used to how to get it set up and all but willing to explore other brands as well.
