Crappie moving shallower. - 10/18/21 03:35 AM
Me and my little girl went to lay this evening caught 17 keepers and one 3lb cat on a brush pile in 10 ft of water on a 1/32 oz jig. Only looked at 3 piles and all had crappie in em but only keeper in that one.

The best crappie that I've caught so far this fall, was caught in 2' of water.

I caught 11 keepers today and threw back 7 shorts. Did better than I expected for not being on the water in about 2 months. They were all around the 15-18’ range and very scattered. I couldn’t find many fish congregated anywhere.

By this time last year they were moved up fairly shallow against the rip rap at a certain bank fishing location on Guntersville. So far this year I've yet to find them there, they were still about 10-12 ft deep under the bridges.
