You better take plenty of cold beverages. I was up there at my place across the river last weekend and it was hotter than ---- and not even the slightest breeze.

I have actively avoided the rodeo, as an avid fisherman, for all but two years since I really started fishing around ‘93. I cannot enjoy that many people on the water with me. The gulf gets “crowded” like Lake Tahoe during Spring Break.
I will likely be headed up to my camp to get some chores done as well. With a cooler full of cold snacks! May even wet a line in the local creek.

That’s why you have to get out early and sling lures at the asshats who want to crowd you.

Yeah I avoid that place this weekend. It's just crazy. I hope to get down to the west end in 3 weeks to try and flounder.

Goal is to find a slot trout and then focus on flat fish Friday and Saturday. Will hopefully get the pressure off early and then mix in a cold snack grin
Good luck to all.

Tell your buddy he’s a dumbass for not entering the other jackpots (especially the $100) which he would be winning as well lol.

My trout got bumped to 2nd place by 0.98oz. Sheesh.

I used to fish with those guys. They are good at what they do. I think a 22lb Bonita was also a catch of the rodeo. I’ve never heard of one that big in all the years of fishing this area.
