Lay lake tournament

I'm going to lay April 17th and was wondering if anybody knew of any bigger tournaments and where they was putting in? Not wanting to fish one just try to avoid the crowd as much as possible

Thats the biggest fishing weekend of the year.

Not to mention the ABT is the following weekend so lots of folks will be there to practice that weekend before.

Nah it is just kind of the norm now days. Nobody works so 100 boats minimum on the lake every week day and then a few hundred satirday and sunday

I think maybe I will take a paddleboat out Saturday just to add to the chaos.

That would be like riding a bicycle in heavy traffic and expecting everyone to cater to you.

Maybe take a poontoner out with spider web out the front 😁

Just remember there will be a lot of folks fishing for money and you are only doing it for recreation so if you find a good spot and a tourney fisherman comes to it, you are obligated to get out of his way. (Sarcasm button off now)

A nephew and I were out one afternoon. Was throwing crank baits on a hump. Guy come flying in. Informed us we were on his spot. Said he was fishing a tournament. Told him to FK off that I was fishing a tournament as well. When ask which one I told him I was trying to out fish my nephew.

This and the whole blocking the boat ramp ordeal is why I don’t like tournaments. You can find some of the rudest people imaginable when money is at stake.

We actually had some tourney db come up and do that one time! Guy comes rolling up on a ledge after watching us net a good one and says "I'm in a really important tournament and I need to fish this spot"! if you can believe that. Told him to f off.

One time a bunch of tourney db's were setting up and launching at beeswax and my buddy walks up to the ramp while they're launching and whacks a four pounder on a buzzbait right in front of them during all the chaos haha.
