Navarre 9/18/20 - 09/18/20 02:20 PM

Surf fished this morning caught 11 nice whiting, 2 catfish and one lady fish. Using Carolina rigged fish bite. Casting out as far as I can and bouncing back slowly. Seems the whiting are out deeper and the cats are near shore. Water looks great. Heading back out to soak some butterflied whiting hoping for redfish or black drum.

Added about 15 more whiting and a 23” redfish. Using 1/2 a whiting for redfish bait, but keep getting sharked. Lost 6 rigs so far to sharks.

No, but there are all kinds of limits set on sharks now.

Sounds like a blast. I miss fishing in the gulf hugely.

Did grilled redfish on the 1/2 shell last night. Water is a little rougher this morning but still looks like it will be a good day.

Yesterday afternoon water was rough. Found a nice trough and caught about 15 small jacks. Maybe 2-4 pounds each. They put up a great fight. Casting a white zoom fluke rigged on a 3/8 jig head. That was fun for about an hour. Gave spot to another guy and rigged him up the same way. First cast he was on.

I can't imagine Mr. Sikes has much say about what permits you need in Navarre, although some of Florida's laws and regulations are more draconian than Alabama's.
