Seagrove Beach Surf Fishing

Will be here 7 days surf fishing 6 of them with a Destin charter on Tuesday.

Started this morning at 530. Fished until 9.
Kept 14 nice whiting. Caught all on a Carolina rig using a 1/0 circle hook. Shrimp fish bite tipped with a small pc of shrimp. 1 20” shark about 6-8 pinfish, and 3 bluefish. Best whiting was right at 15”.

Kept 9 more whiting this morning. All nice again and noticed they are all females with eggs. They are taking small PCs of peeled shrimp. Caught 2 small sharks and then the pinfish moved in and ate all my shrimp. The whiting I kept are between 13 and 15 inches.

Go get in some of those lakes. Last time I was there in July I fished western lake with white baits I cast netted and caught more trout and reds than I could eat.

jlbuc I use to ride my bicycle to those string of lakes and fish when I was a kid. Back then you could keep all the reds you wanted. Some good fishing in South Walton without ever getting on a boat.

Went on charter yesterday. 6 red snapper, 2 Mingo Snapper. 1 white snapper ( porgy), 2 king Mackerel. Also caught 2 nurse sharks, 2 Bonita, and maybe 20-30 ruby lips. Fun day.
