Treble hooks - 01/27/20 12:03 AM
There are some new ones that rotate 360 degrees thus removing the leverage of the hook against the lure a big bass uses to throw a hook ? Anyone have any experience with these ?

I've used them for about 6 or 8 years on rattle traps. I would put a short shank mustad triple grip on the front and a spintech on the back due to losing alot of fish. After I did this I hardly ever lost a fish anymore. Another trick you can do which is cheaper is to buy some split rings and put 2 on the front and the back and this will allow the trebles to rotate a good bit but will not spin anything like the spintechs but it is a big improvement over a single split ring.

There are hard swimbaits on the market that the hook hanger swivels. i'm going to put heavier trebles on some hard swimbaits and going to upgrade to 50-80 lb split rings too.

Perch---I put the Mustad hooks on my spooks and
they float a little lower in the water. Believe they are
4's. Naturally this cuts down on the action.
Will any of this help?
I'm not a real big fan of split rings, though. (Had too
many to break when I made spinnerbait, when I was
putting them on).
I'll talk to you directly on my other question .
