Fishing the swamps beside river below ditto landing

I crappie fished all the swamp and lake area running beside tenn river yesterday. Down stream of ditto landing between ditto and arsenal. Used minnows. Never got a bite. I use to catch crappie years ago in there. Seen 2 gators before too. Its tva land. Anyone ever fished it? Over the years we would fish it. We could never get a catfish bite. We could only catch a few crappie years ago. Never had no luck on cats or bass there. Its been there for years but the fishing is awfull in my experiences growing up beside it.

When I launch out of Ditto, I always head upstream. One of these days I need to fish downstream.

Downstream isn’t bad.

Is the water stagnant? Could be a lack of oxygen if there is a creek flowing thru it.

90% of the fish live in 10% of the water. Always remember that.

Water is clear. I didnt fish around the whole bank though. I need a little boat or canoe to reach most of it
