Can you ship a whole ham and cheese with pizza sauce from the pizza bar when you send reels back? If so I am gonna send you a reel a day.

River Rat I have a new Curado and before I return it I wonder if there is a setting or adjustment I am not making and wanted your opinion. When I cast it it sounds like I am casting a backlash, kind of a whpping sound every time the spool goes around. It sounds this way even if I remove all the line and spin the spool by hand. Any thoughts? Of the 4 new Curado I have this one does it every cast another does it occasionally and the other two never make a sound. I

Pull the left side off and check and make sure the spool bearing retainer clip is fully seated. I've had a few recently that was doing the same thing and that was the problem.
If that doesn't fix it let me know and we'll try other options.

I've got some old Shimanos (calcutta, Calais, and chronarch I think) that seem worn out. Is there anyway to refurbish them?
Posted By: riverrat

Re: Reel Repair - 12/01/16 09:42 PM

Absolutely
Shimano reels are the easiest to refurbish.

Re: Reel Repair - 12/01/16 09:45 PM

How do I make that happen? Any idea on cost?
Posted By: riverrat

Re: Reel Repair - 12/01/16 09:49 PM

I prefer to look them over before I throw a price out.
If you want to send them I'll check them out and give you an estimate. If you decide not to fix them there will be no charge for the inspection.
Send them to the address at the top of the page.

Thoughts on Ardent reels? Buddy of mine just joined their prostaff and can get em at 1/2 off. Thought I might get one just to see if I liked it.

Re: Reel Repair - 04/14/23 01:31 AM

I have two pen fathom reels. One is having drag problems the other locked up solid while reeling in a fish this week. Can't move the handle at all.
I also have a few 5500 and a 6700 that need work done
Thanks
