Contender Grean Beans - Spacing Between Plants?

Going to put in ground today. Rain and low temps and lack of a tiller kept me from having done sooner. Many thanks to ofwolfandman for letting me borrow his tiller to finish the garden. Had the beans soak overnight and plant this afternoon. Planting Guide for Home Gardening in Alabama says 2-3 inches between plants in a row. Is that right? Seems too close for a bush bean.

Same here, I'll add that the rows need to be about 18" apart.

Also, be careful not to plant to deep. An inch is plenty.
