plant starter question - 01/12/20 01:55 PM
I want to start some vegy plants in pods in my garage under lights. I tried last year and the plants came up and were just skinny shoots and just fell over. Can someone tell me what is the best way to start plants and what light to use.

Any light will work. As soon as the seed germinates put the light about 2” above plants and raise light as plants grow. Keep the light just above the plant. It the light is to far, the plant will grow to fast and get leggy. As soon as it get warm enough move the plants outside for short periods of time so they can acclimate to the sun. Also if you are starting tomato plants, you will have to transfer plants to larger containers as the plants grow.

DO NOT use LED light. They don’t have the color variations regular lights have for plant growth.
