Had my first one show up today. Maybe prolonged warm temps aren't far behind.

I have never cleaned out a martin house ,gourd , or plastic gourd and I have had martins for over 30 years, but I do put a teaspoon of sulfur in each gourd ever three to four years this helps keep mites off the birds. I do have some friends that clean out there gourds,

Curious as to what are y’all using to hang your gourds from poles?

Mother had her first two show up that same week. I saw five come in at roost time last Friday afternoon.

I use single strand 12 gauge coated copper wire.

This long spell or rainy weather will be deadly for all the early arrivals.

I use some Sevin dust every year.. Sulfur is so very caustic. It burns the piss out of the hatchlings skin if any moisture is present.
