Pole Bean Varieties

Pole Bean Varieties - 01/25/19 12:19 AM

I have a question:

We love to grill green beans at the house. The ones we get at the grocery store are great for this as the pods aren't tough or stringy. The pole beans we planted last year (forgot the variety) had a tough pod. Which pole bean is the best for eating whole and has the softest and least stringy pod? Kentucky Wonder?

I'm certainly not an expert but my beans last year turned tuff after the first few pickings so did my okra. I was thinking it was more of a climate thing since I used the same seeds I had the year before.

Malibu greenbeans are stringless, should be good for grilling.

Contender beans aren't a "pole" variety, but they are snap beans, not string beans. They are my favorite.
