Catahoula passed on

Catahoula passed on - 02/11/23 06:58 PM

I lost my 17 year old Catahoula yesterday, name is Gris-Gris. Pronounced Gree-Gree, Cajun hex. Damn fine hog dog. She got down in the rear a few weeks ago so I moved her into my trophy room on a big fluffy dog bed. Had to carry her outside couple times a day and keep her on pain meds. I just kept putting off having her put down, She went on her own yesterday. Going to miss her badly. A good dog damn sure ought to live longer......

Troy-Two things a man should never have to bury are his children and his dog.

I remember the quote that says all good dogs go to Heaven! I assure you Heaven will be full. Many a tear has been shed when a beloved dog takes his last breath. I have been there and have done that. Still miss em after all these years.

Good dog will be with you when no one else will. They don’t judge and there love is unconditional. Hate to hear about your friend.

Lost a once in a lifetime partner in July, and still upset. The great ones are worth it, but sure are hard to lose.

Gris-Gris was probably the second best dog I ever had, behind my first Malinois Taz. Taz was one of those once in a lifetime dogs and is still sorely missed after 10 years.

Sorry to hear that. I’ve had some good dogs in the past, but never had anything like Raven!! She is that once in a lifetime dog you speak of. It’s hard to believe that Raven will be 6 years old already next month. It’s going by way to fast. My wife says I talk and spend more time with Raven then I do her. I know she’s just a dog but it would be tough to handle if something would happen to her.

Sorry to hear Fred.

Don't even want to think of that time for me and my Sadie dog.

She is my buddy for sure.

Prayers for you.

Bad news. Losing a good dog is rough. My best one ever had to be put down a couple of years ago after I had to carry him outside for two weeks.
