Wolf/Dog no doubt, could have escaped. Have you posted on any local social media pages? Them things are legal but highly regulated, they have to have at least 10 foot fence and so far under the ground cemented in and so may square feet to roam, I've got a friend in TN with several of them and i can just about bet that is a wolf dog! Theyre usually 50-75% wolf and rest husky or Shepard!

Catch that thing and if it don't have a collar.... you know what comes next.

I would really like to know the rest of the story.

For those of you who say it was ''wolfy '' looking,I can say it is.The pics don't really do it justice.My son took the pics and the video of on the side of the road near the carcass of a dead deer.It was limping prob from being hit by a car.About a week later he shot it behind his house.The hip on it was definitley broken and the critter was very thin for it's size.That's a full size tailgate it's layiny on.

My german shepherd will cover a full size tail gate and my friend has another that makes mine look like a cocker spaniel. Thats a husky. Might be mixed with a german shepherd or somethin. I believe a black cat before a wolf in bama.

Looking at the size again....my shepherd is way bigger than this dog. That dog aint even that big.

So here's the big question. Did you call anyone from the conservation dept to come look at it or get a DNA sample? I still think that it doesn't look like a full on domestic dog, but I don't believe we have "coywolves" just running around here either.

No one is saying we have packs of wild wolves running around Alabama. The fact is some people keep hybrid wolf dogs in captivity.Some even call them pets.We had neighbors in the 90's that had two of them.The first one ran off while in heat and was never seen again.I always figured someone shot it not knowing what they had. Recently I was told by a reliable source, that a man in Pell City had a pen with what he claims are full blooded wolves.Some of the people who keep these animals may not be the most responsible of owners as they could be.Having a hybrid wolf around here was kind of a status symbol among certain groups,kind of like having a pitbull is today.
