Just smoked a coyote, been passing on does looking for the buck that came through right at daylight.

I saw 3 big does at 7:10 but they were way out of ML range.

Had the safety off and cross hairs on there different does but can't make myself enquage the bang switch. Lazy i guess. Only one shooter buck so far.

Good luck fellas. I am at work. Went to shoot my rifles yesterday and I couldn't locate the breech plug I took out of the inline, and the nipple on my new Kentucky rifle cracked on the second shot. Hopefully I can source one or both before Wednesday.

The buck I saw at daybreak come back, nice chocolate horned 9, needs another year

Buddy with me smoked a 9 point, I let a good one get by me, another buddies gun misfired on a nice one and last buddy didn't see crap.

I saw 8 deer and 1 cat this morning.

Only one deer was a shooter and only saw it briefly.

Well out of range.

Hoping for a better afternoon.

Got skunked this morning. My bastard oaks quit dropping. Found some nuttalls that are raining. Went to go get a bite to eat and a shower, catch up on emails, got back in here at 130 and deer were everywhere. They saw me coming from a long ways off. Maybe they will come back. Ready to smoke a deer.

Moved to a ridge with white oaks above a bedding area, ready to roll one down the hill!

Missed a hog this morning. Nothing so far this afternoon

First sit with the muzzle loader and had a dog burning some up ran by me in a cut over never saw em!

Saw doe n fawn and had a 2yr old 7pt come 6yards I was on ground wishing had my bow I got a cool video of him but don't know how to post vid

Had to work and ended up working later than expected but got in the stand at 330. Had a yearling buck come by missing his right side. He played in a scrape and ran and bucked down the hill and fed behind me downwind for 10 mins before wondering off.

Had a misfire this evening. Musket cap didn’t go off. First for me. Nice 6 pt got really lucky!

Saw 4 this afternoon.

I will be in the woods Wednesday afternoon. After reading all this, I can’t wait to get out there.

Took the boat to get to my spot. Almost ran a fawn over on the way to the ramp. Didn't see any deer, but saw turkeys and some feral cat sized fox squirrels. Of course when I got back to the boat launch there were about 10 deer next to the ramp. I know where I'm hunting tomorrow!!!!

Overall it was a fun day for me. I took my new to me boat out, puttered around Smith Lake checking places out that, as a guest on other peoples' boats you can't ask them to just pull over, and found some good places to take my boys squirrel hunting. The fox squirrels I saw have to be some kind of Boone and Crockett squirrels. They look like cats running through the woods. Probably will take my ~9 and ~5 year old out Sat mid-morning to knock around and see if we can bag a few.

Going to be back at it Friday. Maybe Thursday if I decide to skip classes.

Passed on a 3 and 4 point but did kill a nice short tail kitty. Going to be out there this evening

Got my first muzzleloader buck yesterday evening. Was one of the bucks off my hit list this year so killing him with my new ML made it a plus for sure. Came in about 430 about 70yds out.
